Vehicle Description 1966 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible- 440 CID (Stroker)- Automatic- Red/Black Looking for a Weekend Show Car and family fun Cruiser? This one has been restored and enjoyed for several years.
Our seller has owned it approximately 5 years and has made improvements along the way.
He bought it from a family who had owned it in Georgia where the restoration started and according to the Georgia title, original mileage was only 39,713 when the restoration started and before our seller purchased it.
The seller stated that the engine was a brand new 512 Stroker with around 2,000 miles since the rebuild and puts out 500HP.
The 440 block was professionally machined back to perfect and every single part was new he said aluminum heads, crank, pistons, rods, holley carb.
, water pump, radiator, etc.
These parts were a package from the Company 440 Source and is their 512 Stroker kit.
The Engine was professionally stamped near the thermostat.
The radiator has an electric fan that kicks on at 180 degrees and it has never over heated according to the seller, he said even on the hottest summer days.
It is represented as having the original 727- 3 speed Auto trans with a Gear Vendors splitter, which makes it a 6 speed with overdrive, so he said it cruises at highway and interstate speeds with ease.
A Holley fuel injection system was added.
The rear end is a sure grip Posi 3.
73 with all new internals and completely rebuilt.
It has Wilwood Disc Brakes on the front and a new master cylinder and brake lines.
It is eye catching, Candy Apple Red and it has cloth interior which helps when the top is down and the sun is out ( the top is a power top).
It has 3 dual exhaust and creates the perfect muscle car sound coming from that 500HP engine.
The front end was rebuilt with new bushings, shocks, etc and has a new steering box.
The rear end has air shocks that allow you to adjust the ride to your liking.
The top (small hole noted) and boot are both in overall good condition.
It has newer wheels and tires.
It also has a Tachometer out of a 1967 GTX mounted in the console near the shifter, it has been converted to accept electronic ignition, this tach and rebuild was over $1,000.
