Product Engineering - Training Developer 3

The e-learning developer takes the instructionally designed raw materials (typically a storyboard or Word document) created by the instructional designer and develops them into a functional online course using e-learning authoring software
Depending on the level of detail the ID includes in their storyboard, the developer will need to make some visual design and content layout recommendations/decisions
The eLearning Developer is also the point person to replace any placeholder content (such as images or videos) and provide the final content
The e-learning developer's skill set includes strong experience using e-learning authoring software, a certain level of graphic and visual design abilities, an ability to manage timelines and due dates, and a level of comfort working with audio and video technologies
Main area of responsibility will be eLearning Development

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead training development project, including providing direction to other developers assigned to the project
Analyze jobs, performance and target audiences using group or individual interview process, consistent with the project plan and within the defined scope of work and project timelines, as required by the project
Design training using analysis data to produce applications based training design, as required by the project
Develop applications based (action learning) training materials using analysis data and design document(s) in cooperation with subject matter experts, and in the media indicated by the training design
Conduct subject matter expert, master performer and customer interviews required to develop materials, and to review materials throughout the life of the project
Deliver instruction as required, including leading all levels of the class using demonstrations, lectures, Q & A and class mentoring
Remain current with technical area of project, and with the media in which training is to be delivered
Perform duties as assigned by the client supervisor or project lead Required Skills/
Experience:
Knowledge in MS Word - Intermediate
Knowledge in MS Excel - Intermediate
Knowledge in MS PowerPoint - Intermediate
Knowledge of current versions of client Online software applications Intermediate
Knowledge of email communication tool (i.e., Yahoo, Lotus Notes) Intermediate
Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas
Advanced ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using root cause analysis where problems are more complex
Ability to meet deadlines
Strong ability to conduct training needs analysis, in cooperation with client supervisor and subject matter experts
Demonstrated knowledge of the design of applications based training materials including selection of appropriate delivery media
Demonstrated ability to develop instructional materials using technologies employed to deliver instruction, including creating job aids, classroom training, computer based training, web deployment instruction, etc. as required by assigned project
Ability to write technical reports
Strong interactive training delivery skills, as required by project
Position related experience in training - 16 years
Relevant auto industry experience required 1-3 years experience

Bachelor degree in Technical field, Instructional Systems Design or related field
