The role is responsible to set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing duties outlined below.
Duties:
Review specifications such as blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals and/or sample part to determine dimension and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements.
Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills and lathes.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve and/or edit computerized machine control media.
Conduct trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
Qualifications:
Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years of related experience with computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
Experience with running 5-Axis Milling Machines (ie. Micron, Hermle, MoriSeiki).
Must be computer literate.
Preferred:
Forklift experience preferred or certification.
Vocational or machine shop certification is preferred.
