Job Description:
The Lead Embedded Software Engineer will lead the vehicle software execution meeting the expectation of software development plans and execution for the company.
This position will be responsible for working cross functionally to ensure the software milestones for the company have a high-quality execution.
What you get to do:
o In this position the candidate will develop and implement vehicle safety components and systems such as steering, airbag ECUs, braking and others as deemed necessary on the platform.
This individual will be o responsible for analyzing vehicle and stake holder requirements and deriving system and implementable software requirements lead the development, sourcing, and engineering of these systems.
o Lead cross functional system design discussions on how the various safety systems are developed, integrated, and implemented.
o Lead feature and system level component requirements development of vehicle safety systems o Support software architect in establishing and traceability to overall product software architecture and vehicle interface requirements.
o Identify critical vehicle safety features and derive state machine diagrams, sequence diagrams and system level diagrams to aid with interface and communication related requirements.
o Develop AUTOSAR based software components and configuration requirements, ECU services, interface layer requirements for application software and create software integration strategy into the base-software per supplier delivery.
o Develop software work products in compliance with ISO-26262 and ASPICE standards.
o Develop requirements and procedures for Testing, integration and verification of developed software components that meet functional safety standards, while working with both internal teams and supplier teams.
o Work with suppliers of purchased systems in feature and requirement alignment and integration into vehicle model.
o Support HIL/system validation team to meet software quality standards using CAN instrumentation tools and debugging applications.
What you bring to the team:
o Bachelor's degree in engineering Electrical and/or Computer engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science.
o Minimum of 5 years' experience in automotive safety systems and its development with emphasis on deriving system and software requirements based on ISO 26262 best practices.
o Minimum of 5 years' experience in CAN communication, signal to feature development and fault management and its reporting for safety systems.
o Minimum of 2 years' experience in software testing and debugging using standardized software test, instrumentation, and quality check tools for functional safety and AUTOSAR conformance.
Recommended Skills Architecture Automotive Industry Computer Engineering Debugging Electrical Engineering Embedded Software Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
