Description The Engineering Department at SRG Global headquarters in Southern Troy, Michigan is searching for an engineering professional with a passion for driving continuous improvement in process efficiency and effectiveness.The Tool Engineer position will be highly interfaced with the SRG Global team. The position will require values and beliefs consistent with the company culture, along with the expected knowledge and skills. This key position is an on hands position with the expectation of striving for flawless launch.What You Will Do In Your RoleInteract with the Estimating for Tooling expectations and cost.Participate in tooling sourcing with Purchasing, based on Cost, Quality and Delivery.Prepare Purchase Order paperwork and approve InvoicesInteract with the Manufacture to determine Production expectations of Tools.Support the Manufacturer through the life of the tooling.Will guide design concept through final design including Engineering Changes.Support internal Product Design Group.Will act as liaison between internal and external customers to insure DfM are met.Visit regularly to Tool Shops keeping program on track.Generate open issues with resolutions and maintain open correspondence to cross functional team.Responsible for attending and directing mold trial robustness activity before shipment of tool to plants.Establish a Molding Process at early tryouts that allow successful transfer to next stage of development.An interactive with lead of the Moldflow analysis process,Interact closely with the program team which includes Product Design, Advance Development, Program Management, and PlantDirect Mold Design reviews TDR, Moldflow reviews, and Tool buy off through debriefing meetings.Direct communication to Moldflow Analysis for correlation feedback. On-Site Plant Support where needed.Will be required to trouble shoot issues by use of DOE and other root cause or black belt methods.Will be available at both Tool shop, Advance Development Center, and SRG Plants establishing direction for molding processes.Utilize Virtual capabilities when travel is restricted.Apply LL knowledge to ensure best tool conditionsThe Experience You Will BringRequirements:
5 (Five) years' experience Plastic Injection MoldingBachelor's degree or higher in EngineeringUnderstanding of MoldflowUnderstanding of tooling design and manufacturing of tools competenciesUnderstanding of Materials such as - ABS, ABS/PC, ACRYLIC, ASA, ASA/PC, TPO's, PA6, PA6-GFGD & T understandingWhat Will Put You AheadExperience working with Automotive OEM and large Tier I customersDecorative exterior trim experience Scientific Molding understanding Our goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
