Role Summary This Director of Marketing and Events role is a critical leadership position on the global Magna International marketing team. This person will provide the strategic leadership, drive the vision, and lead the planning efforts for a broad range of live, virtual and hybrid events. They will also be responsible to lead a team that ensures all internal and external events, including global internal conferences, hosted external events, and large-scale exhibition participation align with and support our core values and overall brand strategy. This individual will also work with internal groups, functions, and regional marketing teams to implement global marketing campaigns and to support internal initiatives, community involvement, and external brand awareness goals. These efforts include leading our employer branding strategy and overall Magna brand campaigns Key Responsibilities Event Strategy o Define and drive the global event strategy, and plans for virtual, in-person and hybrid events. o Work with global vendors and regional marketing leads to determine company-wide event and display standards, planning tools, reuse strategy, and overall optimization of core assets. o Drive all aspects of event logistics, including site and venue selection, agenda guidance, collateral development, production support, catering, sponsorships, and budget management for local and core global projects. o Oversee the efficacy and performance of all conferences and events by implementing consistent post-event surveys, providing analysis of performance against KPIs, delivering reporting and insights and driving towards data-based decision-making. Marketing & Brand Strategy o Work with the VP Marketing to global brand strategy and support product marketing leads globally with their go-to market product strategies. o Work in collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver impactful and effective audience-driven creative and help manage and facilitate an always on digital strategy alongside the digital marketing lead. o Work with internal teams and external partners to lead our employer brand narrative, strategy, and development of tools for recruiters throughout the organization. o Build strategy and implement plan to support building brand awareness in key regional areas for recruiting. o Work with corporate communications team to help develop and create integrated campaigns that support employee awareness and further company and product knowledge. o Manage the global marketing team budget and cost control on your projects, delivering them within scope. Key Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
o 10
years experience in Marketing and communications with a minimum of 6
years as a people manager. o Bachelor's degree or certificate in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
o You must be a strong communicator with a passion for generating exceptional content as you will help direct, manage and contribute to the development of thought leadership materials. o Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and to navigate across functions effectively. o Demonstrated leadership and team management skills. o Must be an outstanding strategic problem-solver combined with strong operational and complex program management skills to drive implementation. o Proven success in managing change in a global, matrix organization a plus o Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 20% of the time. o Excellent professional communication skills (written and verbal) o Proven experience running complex campaigns and large-scale integrated projects
Salary Range:
$200K -- $250K
Minimum Qualification
Communications & PR, Brand Marketing & ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
