Sr. Project Engineer at zekelman industries in Troy, MI
Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to oversee the communications and documentation of our modular units in Troy, MI. Reporting to the Vice President, Field Services, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing the construction submittal process and requests for information documentation within the modular scope, as well as ensuring frequent progress communication with customers. The Senior Project Engineer will work with the Project Management teams and be assigned tasks set by them as needed.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the management of scheduling, budgeting and implementation of the project Oversee a team of Project Engineers Manage the design and preparation of specification, and furnish other information which helps the client arrive at a decision to proceed with the project Obtain quotes from vendors and compare quality, pricing, lead time and warranty Prepare submittals of materials that adhere to the project estimate, meet the production timeline and match the specifications Tracking the status of submittals and obtaining approvals, resubmitting as necessary Manage the preparation of the schedule of values Manage the project planning for approval by management Assist with Managing change orders with client, architects and engineers Complete all required reports Mange the preparation of all Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, requisitions, proposals, etc. Attend weekly trade coordination meetings Other duties as assignment by management. Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy Job Requirements Specific qualifications for the Project Engineer role include:
Associate degree or equivalent in Building Science preferred Must have a minimum of 10-15 years of commercial construction experience Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Strong written and oral communication skills Strong analytical skills Strong management skills and the ability to delegate tasks to project engineers Ability to work in a manufacturing construction environment utilizing degree in respective discipline Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low cost, high quality medical and dental benefits.
